This is an exciting opportunity at Band 4 level to join the resuscitation training team. We are looking for a hard working, out-going individual who has a keen interest in teaching and in resuscitation.
This post will be to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) training to all levels of staff within the trust, teaching both adult and paediatric BLS as well as involvement in audits, equipment maintenance and some admin duties.
We are a friendly, nurturing and supportive team who prioritise staff development and staff support.

Main duties of the job
- The purpose of this role is to support and deliver basic life support training (adult and paediatric) to all levels and disciplines of staff across the Trust
- Within training sessions deliver training in early warning systems.
- Assist in maintaining resuscitation equipment requirements by ordering supplies through standard ordering procedures.
- Support a Training Needs Analysis and maintain registers of training as appropriate and will be responsible for maintaining accurate training records.
- Develop appropriate competency based clinical skills education and develop relevant competency assessment documents
- Influence change and development of practice, utilising the most recent evidence base.

- To support delivery of Trust Workforce Strategy under the direction of the Senior Workforce Development Officer and Workforce Development Manager.
- To assist in the development and delivery of a range of high quality and innovative training / specialist education and development services that are responsive to the changing learning needs identified at corporate, departmental and individual levels with in Resuscitation.
- To provide information, advice and guidance to ensure that the education needs of a multi-disciplinary team are met effectively at departmental and leaner level.

Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first month’s pay.
