This is a unique opportunity to be part of a developing service with high expectations for improving the outcomes for children and families in Dorset.  CAMHS Gateway is a new Assessment and Brief Intervention Service operating across Dorset, the primary focus on providing high quality clinical assessment of young people and families, as well as delivering brief, needs led, evidence based clinical interventions. You will have the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value driven service with an aptitude for working with young people and families and a passion for the key principles and values of CYP IAPT.

As a Wellbeing Practitioner you will receive line management, caseload management and clinical skills supervision as part of their role, deliver groups, work with families and we are always developing new ideas to engage with as many young people as we can.

This role is a full-time post; we would welcome part-time applicants with a minimum of 22.5 hours. As working will be a mix of online and face to face delivery, we promote and support hybrid working.

Main duties of the job

The Children and Young PWPs are expected to be:

Committed to providing high-quality, brief evidence-based treatment interventions for children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties.

Be familiar with the CYP IAPT core principles and have the relevant specialist training

Experience of working with children, young people and families who experience mental health difficulties, especially depression and anxiety.

You'll need to be able to facilitate group work and we will offer to train you if you don't have this experience yet

You'll be a car driver with access to a car (we work in a beautiful rural area and take our groups where they are needed most)

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.  Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
