The Critical Care Complex at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital are looking to recruit a motivated, dynamic leader for a challenging, yet highly rewarding position as a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.

As a member of the Band 7 team, you will work closely with the Critical Care Matron to deliver and promote professional leadership and management and you will be responsible for withholding the unit’s standards and implementing innovative practice.

Main duties of the job

The Critical Care Complex is a 28 bedded unit that provides care to patients requiring level 2 and 3 support from a variety of specialties; post-operative care for major surgeries, organ support for both Medical and Surgical patients and emergencies from the Emergency Department.

Our team of over 170 Nurses and 14 Critical Care Consultants are supported by a range of other healthcare professionals to deliver care to our patients. We all work as a highly skilled, supportive, multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will be responsible for promoting and implementing practice conducive to the development of high-quality patient care by providing professional, clinical, and managerial leadership. Successful candidates will be required to co-ordinate the busy Critical Care Complex and provide support and guidance to all staff.

The successful candidate should have extensive recent experience within a comparable Critical Care setting and should have a post registration qualification in the specialty.

Due to the 24 hour service provided by the department, you will be required to work fully flexible shifts including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
