Main duties of the job

As the ward manager you will lead and manage the ward so that high quality, evidence based nursing care is delivered to patients and their carers.

Committed to providing high quality nursing care, you will provide strong leadership and mentorship to all staff. You will be a highly visible leader and be experienced as a professional role model. In working in a progressively changing environment you will promote the Trusts values and be committed to high standards of service delivery.

Applicants will have a proven track record in leading and organising a ward team, experience of effective staff management and expert clinical skills and be able to develop opportunities to improve our patients experience

Job responsibilities

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
