Job summary

This non-clinical post, supporting the clinical team on Ward 15, you will be an integral part of the ward team, and be responsible for the patient notes, answering the telephones and ordering stock. This role will not support direct patient care. This post holder would need to provide a courteous, efficient and professional Ward Clerk service, making a valuable contribution to support patient care from time of admission to discharge. The successful candidate would be the first contact point for all Ward visitors and members of the multi professional team, good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Previous NHS clerical experience is desirable, and administrative and commuter skills would be an advantage. Successful candidate will need excellent telephone manner and must be able to deal efficiently with members of the public and all disciplines of Hospital staff. Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide a comprehensive administrative receptionist service to the department.

This will include:

  • Answering phone, adhering to confidentiality rules.
  • Making appointments for patients.
  • Filing notes.
  • Input data onto computerised systems including PAS, Bluespier, EZ notes, Sunrise.
  • Prepping notes for admission to the Ward.
  • Ordering stationary for the Ward if required.
