A brand-new volunteer opportunity in our Retreat cafe at the John Elliot Unit.
This is a great volunteering role helping to run the Trust’s Charity Café. This is a brand-new venture for the Trust and a resource that will have a big impact on patients, service user, family, friends, staff and visitors.
Whether you want to gain experience, improve your job prospects, or just want to give some of your time to help others, this volunteering role could be for you!
Main duties of the job
Please see below what you may be involved in with this role:
- Help prepare and serve refreshments to customers (patients, carers, staff and visitors)
- Handle small amounts of cash including float and sales money
- Mornings – Help prepare for opening
- Afternoons – Help with closing the cafe
- Help keep the cafe stocked, replenishing and rotating the stock
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, help to keep the cafe bar equipment and cafe area clean and tidy
DBS Level for this role is: Standard
The knowledge, skills and attributes required for the role:
- Experience of working in food service would be an advantage
- Food hygiene level 2 certificate or willing to complete the course
- Good communication skills
- Good customer care skills – sensitive, tactful, reliable, and trustworthy
