Job overview

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust are expanding the specialist Urogynaecology nursing service to improve pathways for those with pelvic floor and bladder dysfunction by seeking an experienced specialist nurse to join our established multidisciplinary team.

We are looking to recruit a successful candidate into a Developmental Urogynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialist role. The successful candidate will receive full training and support both formally through appropriate courses and from members of the MDT. This will be at Band 6 (progressing to a Band 7 on completion of competencies and training) and experience in Gynaecology or Urology is essential.

On completion of training the post holder will provide highly specialist clinical expertise in all aspects of Urogynaecology; delivering an expert nursing service with their own nurse-led outpatient case load (including but not exclusively; vaginal pessary management and insertion, bladder training, urodynamics, patient education, catheter care and management, medication management, post-operative assessment).

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria.

The role may require developing additional clinical skills as the service continues to progress in line with current research and guidelines.

The post holder will support the Gynaecology Matron and Urogynaecology Clinical Lead by participating in the continued development and day to day coordination of the Urogynaecology service; this will also include at times supporting the delivery of the wider Gynaecology service which includes the Colposcopy, Hysteroscopy and General gynae Clinics.
