The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAH) is looking to appoint a Trust grade doctor to work within Cardiology.

This post gives the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to experience cardiac medicine in a busy DGH setting with daily Consultant supervision.

You will be expected to take an active role in the department, participating in daily ward and board rounds, implementation of early assessment, diagnostics and clinical management of patients in all our areas.

Main duties of the job

You must hold a current full registration with the General Medical Council and have experience across a broad range of Medical sub specialties.

The successful applicant will join a team of fantastic medical professionals who are jointly responsible for Cardiology ward in-patients.

The post will work under the supervision of the Cardiology Consultants for inpatient.

The post holder will participate in ward rounds, ensuring all patients are seen daily.

The post holder will play a key role in ensuring medical team input into the Red2Green meeting which takes place twice daily on each ward. This is a ward based, mini-MDT in which the treatment and discharge plan for each patient on the ward is reviewed with a view to eliminating bottlenecks and non-treatment related delays.

The post holder will work closely with the medical team and wider multidisciplinary clinical team in his/her area of work to deliver high quality patient care. The post holder will also support the consultant in driving forward service improvements according to the changing and increasing needs of the population.
