Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post-holder will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to patients with infectious diseases, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. Working under the supervision of the consultant of the month and alongside registrars and an IMT1 SHO, the role involves supporting ward cover, including cross-cover during annual or study leave, and actively participating in all aspects of clinical care. This includes ward rounds, ward work, weekly infectious diseases clinics, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings such as TB, ID-Microbiology, and Radiology MDTs.

In addition to clinical duties, the post-holder will contribute to departmental activities, including teaching, audit, quality improvement projects, and academic seminars. Clear documentation and effective communication within the MDT are essential.
