Trust Doctor in the department of General Paediatrics and Specialties We are inviting applications to fill our Trust Doctor vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of General Paediatrics and Specialties. This post will commence September 2026 fixed term for 12 months Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice by the intended start date.

Main duties of the job

We are inviting applicants to join our busy but welcoming paediatric team as a Trust Doctor based at the Leeds Childrens Hospital in West Yorkshire. Posts are available from September 2025 for a period of 12 month. Each post will combine be 6 month posts in the childrens hospital which will be either in tertiary neonates and paediatric specialties, general paediatrics and paediatric specialties or 2 different posts in paediatric specialties. This role is suitable for applicants at ST1/2 LST ideally with some experience in paediatrics. It is ideally suited to candidates wishing to work in a large teaching hospital which provides many specialist services and is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in paediatrics. We will provide support and guidance with application to paediatric training. Rotas would vary depending on specialty, but all operate a fully compliant shift system including long days and nights. Paediatric posts will deliver clinical care to paediatric patients on wards, liaising with colleagues in other specialties and hospitals, attending acutely sick patients and admitting and discharging patients and requesting investigations. Trainees are allocated to attend 2 full days of clinics every 14 weeks. As the holder of this role you will be expected to assist on wards and in clinics as well as providing on-call cover. Neonatal posts will involve standard / long days and nights working at Leeds General Infirmary (level 3) and St James Hospital (level 2)
