Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fire Safety Adviser. The Fire Safety Adviser will be responsible to the Head of Security, Fire Safety and Compliance, with delegated responsibility to the Trust Fire Safety Manager for managing all aspects of Fire Safety. The post holder will be required to work across all University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust sites. The successful applicant will have previous fire service, NHS fire Safety experience and working with an outsourced or Private Finance Initiative (PFI) service provision. Extensive knowledge of and experience in the practical application of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and ability to undertake fire risk assessments using a modern approach.

Main duties of the job

You will be highly motivated and organised with a proven track record of performing fire risk assessments within an NHS healthcare environment, including the provision of training development and must possess a technical understanding of the aspects of firefighting equipment and the ability to develop and practice evacuation procedures. You will need to have effective interpersonal and communication skills, excellent report writing and presentation skills. The proficient use of Microsoft Office, e.g. Word, power point and Excel is essential.
