The cover out of hours is provided by a team of three resident Anaesthetists, with the consultant anaesthetist on-call from home.  Regular days in elective theatres (orthopaedic, gynae or general surgery) will also be part of the rota.

During the day, a staff grade is  partnered with a consultant obstetric anaesthetist allowing for training and development. Out of hours, there are two staff grade anaesthetists allocated to Labor Ward duties together with a third anaesthetist providing cover for surgical emergencies, patient transfer and pediatric resuscitation.
