Job overview

We have exciting opportunities in the Department of Oncology and the Department of Haematology at Trust Grade ST1/ST2 level (SHO equivalent).

Posts will be based either in Oncology (up to 8 posts) or Haematology (up to 4 posts) and are available from 6 August 2025 for a period of one year.   These posts will have on-call commitments.

One additional post for Palliative Care will also be available but there will be no on-call commitments, you will receive a basic salary and London Weighting only.

It will not be possible to rotate to all areas so please specify which post you are interested in when you apply.

The post holders will have the same education and training opportunities provided to trainees, with the same study leave benefits and will form part of an existing, supportive multi-disciplinary team in our world renowned oncology, palliative care and haematology services.

It is essential that candidates have core competencies of Foundation Year Two, GMC registration with a licence to practice, with relevant experience in internal medicine and haemato/oncology.  Good team working skills and an excellent command of English are also essential.

Main duties of the job

The candidate will have achieved all FY2 competencies to enable them to carry out a range of tasks including history taking, examination, diagnosis, clinical decision making, safe prescribing and medical record-keeping etc.
