Trust doctor/ Clinical Fellow (ST3-5 equivalent) in the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology We are inviting applications to fill our Trust doctor/Clinical Fellow (ST3-5 equivalent) vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This post is fixed term for 12 months. Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice by the intended start date. The post holder will work at a level equivalent to that of a ST3+ trainee. Applicants must have completed Foundation competencies either as part of the UK Foundation programme or demonstrate equivalent training. Applicants should ideally have experience at working at a ST3+ level for a minimum of 1 year ideally within the UK. Basic Life Support training is essential.
The above post is suitable for doctors wishing to gain clinical experience at a ST3+ level in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The post offers the successful candidate a wide range of experience in all areas of the specialty. Whilst this post is not recognised for training, the appointee will be supported by a Clinical Supervisor to meet their career and educational goals. The post holder will contribute to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology inpatient and outpatient services as well as being part of the second on call rota with an on call frequency of 1 in 10. The post holder will predominantly work at the SJUH and LGI sites. Duties will involve but will not be limited to working on the labour ward, reviewing obstetrics and gynaecology (including early pregnancy) emergencies and looking after antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology inpatients as well as attending antenatal and gynaecology clinics. There will also be opportunities to attend elective gynaecology and obstetrics theatres. The post holder will also be encouraged to take part in departmental teaching and quality improvement work.
