Trust Doctor ST3+ Emergency Medicine We are looking for enthusiastic doctors at ST3+ level to take up this 6-month post in Emergency Medicine. The post is to cover a deanery gap from Aug 2026-  Feb 2027. It is an exciting time to join our team as we have recently redeveloped our Emergency Department and have implemented a wide range of new processes and pathways.  We are now expanding our workforce to offer additional opportunities to motivated and engaged doctors who wish to develop themselves and the department.  We offer exceptional training opportunities in point of care ultrasound (POCUS) with two hours of dedicated teaching every week day!  There is also considerable scope for successful candidates to be involved in service re-design, simulation and quality improvement projects.  We have recently received awards and recognition for two projects at trust level.  In the past year, a number of our trust grade doctors have been promoted to the next tier and three of our middle grades have been promoted to consultant level.  Engaged and motivated candidates will find themselves at home in a culture of aspiration and excellence!

Main duties of the job

It is an exciting time to join our team.  We have completed an £8 Million redevelopment of the Emergency Floor which has produced a bespoke ED transforming the way we deliver Emergency and Urgent care to our local population.  The team is flexible with several special interests such as POCUS, Paeds, Major Incident, Mental health. We welcome new ideas and diversity and the Trust’s focus is on empowering clinical leadership.

The primary duties of the post are to see new patients within the ED, and to be an on-site source of advice, help and supervision for more junior doctors in the ED. This is a senior post and your role will include being the doctor in charge of the department at night with a consultant on call from home after midnight.

The successful candidate will be working on the Middle Grade rota and accountable to the EM Consultants.

We are seeking to appoint an ST3-6 Doctor to join our experienced and trusted team who work together to meet the challenges of Emergency Medicine. This post will provide excellent clinical experience, with the opportunity for personal development in areas such as QIP, POCUS and leadership. The successful candidate will take part in the full ‘Middle Grade’ rota.  Duties will include daytime, night and weekend shifts in all areas of the department.

This post is not recognised as a formal Deanery training slot, but there are training and development opportunities.
