We are excited to announce our senior clinical fellow job in paediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF)

The post will be for a period of 12 months starting from Sept 2026, later start date may be possible.

Main Duties of the job

The role involves inpatient and outpatient multidisciplinary team (MDT) management of children with CF and non-CF bronchiectasis. The postholder will participate in the middle grade respiratory ward cover, attend outreach clinics and be responsible for CF annual reviews and management of the CF Registry along with our database manager.  There is no out of hours commitment.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within the MDT and ensure clear communication. They will be expected to gain experience and training in:

  • CF: hospital and home care; diagnostic pathway and transition service; outreach clinics, annual reviews. This will include the management of CF diabetes including use of CGMS for screening / diagnosis and CF liver disease.
  • Participation at weekly grand round attended by all consultants and psychosocial MDT meetings.
  • Supervising elective and emergency admissions, from arranging admission and investigations to completing discharge summaries and ensuring full communication and handover.
  • Attend MDT CF (Mon pm, Fri am and 1-2 segregated patients/week), non-CF bronchiectasis (monthly) and PCD (4 monthly) clinics as well as outreach and transition clinics
  • Organise and complete CF annual reviews
  • Update and verify entries to CF registry database
  • Initiate and monitor treatment with CFTR modulators
  • Opportunity to participate in CF research with support to attend conferences
  • Co-ordinate investigations including flexible bronchoscopies and impedance studies with the opportunity to learn principles of paediatric bronchoscopy

We already have GRID trainees for Paediatric A&E/ gastroenterology/ Respiratory medicine/ Allergy medicine/ endocrinology with SPIN trainees in Neurology •    All fellows will be assigned a QI project/Audit to participate in along with participation in Clinical Governance and management meetings
