Applications are invited for the above post which offers subspecialist training in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. The clinical training is for a fixed period of minimum 2 years and is based at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust.
Applicants must either:Hold a UK National Training Number (NTN), have completed at least five years of specialty training, and hold the MRCOG; or Already hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and be on the UK GMC Specialist Register in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with MRCOG or an equivalent qualification.
Applicants for a two-year training programme should have completed at least one year of relevant research training, leading either to a higher degree (MD/PhD) or to several significant peer reviewed publications, as stipulated by the RCOG sub-speciality Committee. There is also the opportunity for suitable applicants without the necessary research experience to undertake a three-year training programme, which will include academic research.
The successful applicant must be able to participate in the O&G doctor’s on-call rota as a senior registrar and provide support to more junior doctors on the rota.
This is an RCOG accredited subspecialty training post in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. This is a fixed-term post for 24 months, depending on academic background and experience of the post-holder.
The post-holder must meet the RCOG requirements for entry to subspecialty training (ST5-7/post-CCT or equivalent).
The post-holder will be based primarily at The Royal London Hospital (RLH) (80% of training) with rotations to Whipps Cross Hospital (WXH) and Newham University Hospital (NUH) (approximately 20% of training). The timing and duration of these placements will be tailored to the trainee’s educational needs and progression and will be agreed after the first 12-month review.
The primary clinical work area will be Fetal medicine, Maternal medicine (outpatient clinics and ward rounds), Obstetrics (labour ward and triage).
