We are delighted to invite applications for a 6-12 month fixed term post as a Junior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. We welcome applications for posts starting in March/April 2026, August/September 2026, or February/March 2027.
We welcome applications from candidates looking to work on both a full-time and less than full time basis.
Our Junior Clinical Fellow post is intended to provide between 6 to 12 months of Paediatric Emergency Medicine in a major trauma centre.
It is aimed at early to mid-stage Emergency Medicine or Paediatric trainees (ST1-3 equivalent), or trainees undertaking an ‘FY3’ Year between Foundation Training and Specialty Training, looking to gain further experience in Paediatric Emergency Medicine.
Our Junior Clinical Fellow post is designed to enable the post-holder to start/consolidate PEM skills in the well-supported environment of a friendly Paediatric Emergency Department, while getting the bonus of being in a major trauma centre with exposure to a huge range of expertise and support.

Communicate effectively with patients, and treat patients and colleagues with compassion and respect at all times.
Deliver safe, and effective clinical care seeing patients within a personal case load seeking support, instruction, and advice from senior clinical team members where required.
Support delivery of the emergency department’s key performance standards through motivated adherence to key standards and by seeking support and advice from within the wider emergency care team when required.
Write clear, concise and contemporaneous patient focused medical records. Practice with honesty and integrity and in full compliance with the GMC standards for good clinical practice.

Actively participate in the department’s education and training program both in receiving and delivering education and training.
Actively participate in the departmental, hospital and trust wide clinical governance and patient safety activities.
Promote, and actively participate in the departments health and well-being at work programs.
Collaborate with all members of the emergency department team and staff from other Departments.
Participate in major incident clinical cascade. Deliver as able extra duties in the event of a major incident.
