The Directorate of Trauma and Orthopaedics has created the exciting new role of Resource Manager, in order to drive new ways of working, better manage our capacity, and ultimately provide our patients with the best possible experience.

Role Overview:

As the T&O Resource Manager, you will lead and optimise our resource management processes, including timetabling, scheduling, insourcing, and outsourcing. As part of the Directorates senior team, you'll work closely with senior managers and external partners to ensure efficient operations and clear reporting. This role is crucial for balancing patient demand with available resources and enhancing Directorate performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead initiatives to streamline workflows and administrative processes.

Collaborate with various teams to develop and monitor key performance indicators.

Line manage the Deputy Administration Manager, with overview of the Directorates Admin team.

Work with the Consultants to coordinate timetables and support senior management in planning and decision-making.

Facilitate project-based meetings and manage associated documentation.

Main duties of the job

The T&O Resource Manager will drive resource management and process improvements within our Orthopaedic service. This role ensures efficient booking, scheduling, insourcing, and outsourcing operations across sites. You'll collaborate with senior leadership and external partners to optimise resources and enhance departmental performance.

Key Skills and Experience:

Operational Expertise: Significant experience in HR management, budget oversight, and performance metrics within the NHS.

Leadership: Proven track record in managing large teams and achieving targets. Experience in administrative and booking processes is crucial.

Project Management: Strong skills to coordinate and facilitate projects, with experience supporting change programs and working with healthcare targets.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and report writing. Ability to motivate staff to meet challenging targets.

Analytical Abilities: Proficient in analysing data to inform decisions and optimise resources. Strong problem-solving skills to manage operational changes.
