Main duties of the job

This is an excellent opportunity to lead a well established 6 bedded Transitional Care Unit (TCU) at Hillingdon Hospital. TCU is a part of the Neonatal Unit (NNU) and is located in Alexandra ward which is a postnatal ward. The TCU Lead Nurse will provide expert clinical  leadership and operational oversight of the TCU. This role is pivotal in ensuring that babies who require additional support after birth can remain with their mothers, promoting family integrated care and reducing unnecessary neonatal admissions.

The postholder will lead a team of nurses and support staff, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive service  improvements aligned with national and local maternity transformation goals. The TCU Lead Nurse is responsible for utilising specialist skills and expertise to provide high standards of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care pathways. The  post holder is responsible for contributing to the management and coordination of the transitional care service, including resource management, and providing leadership and supervision to others.
