Previous pharmacy experience would be an advantage, however full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be well organised, have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, be able to adapt to changing demands, be committed to providing a high quality patient focused service and be someone who is proactive.

Core service hours are Monday to Friday 08:45 – 17:15 and you will contribute to the weekend rota (roughly 1 in 8) and bank holiday rota (roughly 1 per year).

Candidates must have GCSEs in Maths & English at grade C or above or an equivalent qualification and meet the essential criteria of the job specification.

Main duties of the job

The role of the successful candidate will include:

  • Working closely with the ward-based Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists
  • Supporting the safe and secure storage of medicines on the wards
  • Assessing patients own medication to check it’s suitability for use
  • Maintaining medication supplies for inpatients on allocated wards by completing regular locker checks
  • Ensuring efficient use of medicines by facilitating the safe transfer of medication around the hospital
  • Prioritising and facilitating discharges
  • Dispensing inpatient and discharge prescriptions

Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at the hospital site. Remote interviews will not be available.
