An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to work within the Adult and Community Services Division as a Tissue Viability Nurse within the Tissue Viability service.
This post will support the Tissue Viability Lead Nurse in providing a specialist evidence-based Tissue Viability service to individuals with hard to heal wounds who are registered with Wirral GP’s.
The role of the Tissue Viability Nurse is to assess, diagnose and treat individuals with hard to heal wounds. The Tissue Viability Nurse will liaise with the referring healthcare professional and patient (where possible), to develop a personalised wound care plan for the referring healthcare professional to follow. The recommended wound care products will be prescribed (where appropriate) and review assessments will be performed when indicated.
In addition, the Tissue Viability Nurse will provide expert knowledge to other professionals. The post holder will deputise in the absence of the Tissue Viability Lead Nurse. The successful candidate will also be expected to liaise with clinical networks and to attend local conferences to support their own personal development. They will attend and participate in Trust wide meetings relating to quality improvements and service targets. The post holder will be involved in identifying training needs and will develop training packages appropriate to individual settings, as well as participating in the delivery and evaluation of the role essential training programmes related to Tissue Viability.
