Join us as a Band 4 Therapy Technician in the Community Care – Heathlands Rehabilitation Unit, where you’ll work both independently and as part of a supportive team to deliver high-quality rehabilitation, assessment, and care to patients to enable then to return to their own environment.
You’ll play a key role in promoting patient independence, supporting individualised goals, and working closely with registered practitioners and multidisciplinary team to deliver effective treatment programmes.
If you have a foundation degree or NVQ Level 5 (or are working towards one), experience in health or social care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others, we want to hear from you!
Main duties of the job
- To work as a proactive member of the team providing a high quality, efficient and effective service to patients.
- To work autonomously, assuming responsibility for delegated aspects of healthcare delivery, working within a scope of practice under the direction and supervision of a registered practitioner. To work within relevant legal and ethical frameworks and in accordance with organisational protocols and policies.
- To work with patients within the unit providing assessment, rehabilitation, support and treatment programmes, undertaking home visits as appropriate. Working as a trusted assessor undertaking initial assessments and functional assessments as delegated by registered staff and supporting clinical staff with treatment and rehab input. To work within scope of competence.
- To be able to work with patients either individually or in a group setting
- To be proficient, knowledgeable and competent in rehab and functional assessment.
- Educated to Foundation Degree, Level 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care or be able to evidence that they are working towards one of these qualifications.
- To continue to develop in the role through the acquisition of further skills, knowledge and competences, to be determined by the needs of patients, the service and the team.
