Job overview

Are you looking for a change in your role as a Therapy Technician? Would you like to gain specialist skills in rehabilitation of Older People or those with Neurological conditions? Do you want excellent work/life balance, with part-time hours and no weekend working? If so, then come and join us in the Therapy Outpatients Team at SBCH!

We are a small, specialist team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and two Therapy Technicians.  Previous members of staff have praised the supportive team structure, and we are proud to have been described as ‘a talented and friendly group of people’ to work with!

You can find out more about the Adult Therapies Service here: Therapies - UHBW Careers

Would you like to chat about this post, or arrange a visit to SBCH? Call Charles (Charlotte Dingle) on 07771784464, or phone the office on 0117 342 9741 and ask for one of the Band 7s.

Main duties of the job

Within this role, you will support the delivery of a specialist rehabilitation service in the therapy gym at South Bristol Community Hospital – working across the two pathways of Older Person’s Rehabilitation and Outpatient Neurology Service.

Unique benefits to working in this team include:

  • Support by highly skilled and experienced qualified therapists and specialist band 7’s
  • Supportive, integrated team working
  • Robust in-service training programme
  • Protected, regular clinical supervision and annual appraisals
  • Participation in service development and QI projects
  • Support to attend appropriate external training courses
  • Wellbeing sessions and shared lunches
  • Exemption from weekend and bank holiday working

The service is currently trialling two different programs of service delivery to determine whether a 4 day or 5-day service is best for our patients and staff.  As a new member of staff you will be part of this project, collecting data and contributing to the decision regarding the future of the service.  This means your working days may change during the first 6 months working here, but this will be in liaison with the team. We wish to make candidates aware we are unable to support relocation costs for this post. As it is a part-time Band 4 post, it does not meet the financial threshold for visa sponsorship.
