Band 3 Living Well Therapy Assistant based at Sobell House (22.5 hours a week)

Fixed Term contract for 1 year.

The Living Well service aims to enable and empower individuals to live well by equipping them with skills and knowledge to help them achieve their goals and to live day to day with a sense of purpose and wellbeing.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, creative and proactive Living Well Therapy Assistant to join the Living Well team at Sobell House.  This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the other members of our multidisciplinary team, to provide creative activity, rehabilitation and a range of wellbeing focused support to patients and their carers attending the Living Well service.

Main duties of the job

We’re looking for a creative individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player committed to collaborative working with patients and colleagues. You will help the team to deliver patient centred care, focusing on improving mental and physical well-being. You will plan and organise a range of creative activities and craft projects and contribute to the development of the Living Well service.

In return we will be able to offer a supportive and friendly working environment, with access to teaching and clinical supervision.

Please note there may be occasions where cross cover is required at Katharine House hospice so some travelling may be required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To work as an integrated part of the multi-professional team in the Living Well Service.
  • To plan, organise and facilitate a range of creative activities and craft projects within Living Well Service unit enhancing the patients and carers experience.
  • To ensure that specialist skills, creativity and experience are used to encourage patients and carers to find and express their own creativity.
  • To assist the Living Well team with a range of duties relating to patient care and service delivery.
  • To work alongside the MDT in providing assessment, intervention and rehabilitation to patients attending the Living Well Service.
  • To contribute to the development of Living well Service.
  • To maintain stock of creative activity materials and therapy equipment.
  • To record patient information.
