Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner 0.8 (WTE) – Orthopaedics

An opportunity has arisen for a 0.8 (30 hours) Band 4 post within the Orthopaedic Therapy Team.  Are you enthusiastic and motivated with a passion for caring? Do you relish a challenge? Are you innovative, dynamic and a good problem solver? This exciting role could be for you.

The Orthopaedic team is a friendly team who provide inpatient therapy services for both elective and trauma patients at both Peterborough City and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals and is a thriving and supportive team. The post will involve working across both HH and PCH sites.

Main duties of the job

  • To undertake assessments and treatments for patients that have been triaged by a Therapist and deemed appropriate for Therapy Assistant Practitioner intervention with case management advice available via indirect and direct contact with a registered therapist. To carry own caseload of non-complex patients assessing, according to competencies, and devising and implementing treatment programmes. To work collaboratively within Multidisciplinary and Multi-agency teams with the aim of supporting timely discharge. To enable patients, their families and carers in the attainment of their rehabilitation goals by providing treatment programmes developed and monitored by Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in supervision To undertake visits to patients homes to assess their discharge needs To assess and provide equipment To be actively involved in the in-service training programme, including the mentoring and training of Band 2 and 3 therapy assistants and supporting students as required To participate in the provision of 7-day services.
