St. Michael’s Theatres University Hospital Bristol and Weston are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals with a flexible approach to be part of adult Theatres. We are currently looking for new enthusiastic team members to work alongside our expanding  multi-disciplinary team as a band 5 working up to 37.5 hours a week, with Anaesthetic, recovery or  scrub skills. We have a number of theatres across multiple sites in UHBW. St. Michael’s Hospital currently has 5 theatres and an 8 bedded recovery area, with a range of specialties including Obstetrics, ENT, Upper G.I, Oral Surgery and Gynaecology. with robotic surgery starting on this site shortly it is an exciting time to join us. Hey Groves Theatres (HGT) is based in Bristol Royal Infirmary sites with 10 theatres, 9 bedded recovery with a range of specialities including cardiac, thoracic, GI, Max - Fax, Trauma and emergency theatres. Robotic surgery is across 6 specialities within HGT. The working pattern you would be expected to fulfil within your working hours up to 37.5 will include a range of shifts as well as nights and weekends Ideally the applicant will have skills or knowledge in all areas of theatres including scrub, recovery and anaesthetics, but relevant training will be provided. Eagerness to learn is essential, along with flexibility and a team working approach. Newly Qualified Practitioners are welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking experienced scrub/ODP nurses for our purpose built unit in the leafy surroundings of SBCH, Hengrove. Our current vacancies are in theatre and the pre- and post-operative ward area/recovery. There is a great community feel among the team here at Hengrove, in  a fresh, bright environment. Perhaps this is near where you live or you want a change of scene from the city centre hospitals? You won't need to work night duty or on-call but you will need to be flexible to work a range of shifts across the week. Shift times include 0730 to 19:00 or 2000,  0800 to 1800 and 0800 to 1700 and work across the trust. We provide a wide variety of specialities and services . There are two theatres and 2 Endoscopy suites unit. Specialities  includes, Dermatology, Colorectal, Upper GI,  Max fax, and Ophthalmology, Gynae  cardiology and Pain procedures. If you have Theatre experience we would love to hear from you, but we are mostly looking for compassionate, dedicated nurses who want to give the very best care to our patients. There are plenty of training opportunities and many new skills to learn.

Theatre scrub nurse /ODP with experience is preferred but training can be provided on the job. We offer mentorship and an appropriate supernumerary phase, followed by supported practice and can offer development and training in other specialities by sending across to Main hospital at Bristol Royal Infirmary.
