
Scrub Practitioner.
We are looking for theatre scrub practitioner roles with some experience in Gynae, General Surgery, ENT, Oral surgery, Ophthalmology or Hand Orthopaedics.

The Royal Cornwall Trust is spread across four sites; the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance and St Michaels’ Hospital in Hayle, and the Surgical Hub in St Austell. West Cornwall Hospital has two day case operating theatres and is home to a mixed speciality.
You will be working with multi-disciplinary colleagues as a member of the core theatre team.

The post holder is responsible for the provision of skilled and knowledgeable assistance to operating surgeons and surgical teams during the full intraoperative pathway. Delivering high quality patient care with the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of individual programs of care. They are expected to take delegated responsibility in a given shift for a surgical operating list and a group of patients.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care and the management of patients during procedures performed under general, regional and local anaesthetic. The post holder will be expected to have a wide range of surgical skills scrub skills and specialty based knowledge to support surgical practice in a multi-specialty environment.
The post holder will be required to develop knowledge and skills in the use of specialist equipment and potentially provide support to areas outside their base operating department in the safe and effective delivery of surgical procedures.
Individual practitioners will be required to participate in a full rostered rota.
