Are you a naturally caring and reliable individual who wants to make a difference in patient care? We are looking for highly motivated Theatre Assistants to join our busy, fast-paced perioperative Theatre team. Within this role, you will work under the guidance and supervision of registered nurses and Operating department Practitioners (ODPs).

You will assist in providing high quality, safe and efficient care to patients during their surgical journey.

The theatre department at the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital has 20 theatres specialising in Cardiac, Thoracic , General, Colorectal and Orthopaedic surgery and we provide a comprehensive induction and competency based training programme.

As a Theatre Assistant, you will support the Registered Practitioners in many aspects of direct and indirect clinical care to ensure our patients are given the best care possible. You must be able to commit to an out of hours on call rota for overnight and weekends and to working across 6 days per week.

You must demonstrate that you have a keen interest in working in this area and demonstrate you understand what this means. You must be willing and able to learn, either already possessing SVQ in Healthcare or be willing to study towards. You must also be physically fit and have excellent communication skills.

On completion of competencies, you will progress to a band 3.
