This post will provide a wide range of training across patient imaging, radiopharmaceutical production and administration, along with Nuclear Medicine equipment operation and quality assurance programs.

Applicants are welcome from any graduate of a health care related course. Non-traditional entry is considered on an individual basis although previous experience of working in health care would be an advantage. You should normally possess a 2:1 honours degree (or above) or a vocational award together with evidence of further learning. Please note that this is a designed as an entry into nuclear medicine, and therefore not suitable for candidates with a prior nuclear medicine qualification.

Successful candidates will have to be in post, enrolled and ready to start with University of Salford by September 2025.

If you would like further information, please speak to Harriet Peck, PET CT Modality Lead, [email protected]

Main duties of the job

The training programme that you will be completing has both academic components and a clinical workplace training component within the department eventually leading to a Post Graduate diploma in Nuclear Medicine. The course is run by the University of Salford and you will be fully supported to attend this hybrid ran course.  This practitioner pathway has a strong emphasis on delivering new and emerging technologies and is suitable for science and healthcare graduates who have an interest in applying science to patient care

The majority of the work within the training programme will include gaining experience and learning about the full range of equipment and techniques used in nuclear medicine.
