The Cambridge Genomics Laboratory (CUH) is pleased to be recruiting a Training Manager to ensure that the Technical Staff support the Laboratory’s aims by providing a professionally competent workforce, while also enabling the technical staff to develop their careers within the Laboratory.
The Training Manager (Technical Programme) will be responsible for developing healthcare science technical staff, helping them to attain registration with the either the IBMS or the AHCS. The Training Manager will need to prioritise training availability. They will need to develop SOPs and policies in order to ensure a consistent approach to opportunities is provided.
As the Training Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Laboratory maintains its Training Competency, candidates must be a HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist or AHCS Registered Genetic Technologist.
As the lead laboratory of East Genomics, the Cambridge Laboratory has a critical role in the delivery of genomic services to a population of over 9 million people. As a HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist or AHCS Registered Genetic Technologist, to be the named Training Officer for Qualifications awarded by the Institute of Biomedical Scientists. Support Trainee Genetic Technologists in achieving The Practitioner Certificate of Competence for Genetic Technologists. Develop apprenticeship pathways with the support of CUH’s apprenticeship team.
Responsible as Technical Programme Training Manager for ensuring all training and competency within the technical laboratory environment is delivered and recorded. Manage and develop the Technical training programme for new and current technical staff. Ensure provision of continued professional development opportunities for both registered and non-registered technical staff.
Responsible for the maintenance of the training status of the Genomics Laboratory with the IBMS and AHCS
