Hercules and Phoenix Ward have an exciting opportunity for a Systemic family Therapist to join our established Multi-Disciplinary Teams
Hercules Ward is an 8 bedded PICU that works with young people experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems. We work closely with families and a full MDT to ensure positive outcomes for young people and we encourage staff to be fully involved in patients care and participate in both group and 1:1 work.
Phoenix Ward is a busy 12 bedded general acute ward providing highly specialist services, 7 days a week, to young people aged 13 to 18 who are experiencing a range of mental health and emotional difficulties. We have a large MDT and opportunity to ensure a wide range of therapeutic intervention.
We would consider this as a development post for newly qualified Systemic Family Therapist or those with limited experience in this field. We would also consider applications from trainees who complete their studies before September 2025. The banding will reflect experience.
Our Family Therapists provide Specialist Systemic clinical interventions to CAMHS Tier 4 Inpatient Services. The successful candidate will work directly with a caseload of approximately 7 families, delivering a range of systemic interventions and interventions. The post holder will be expected to participate in care planning, facilitating psycho-education, developing parent support groups and training the staff team.
Our inpatient Family Therapists are part of a reflecting team clinic working jointly with the Family Therapist from Our Specialist Eating Disorder Ward, offering opportunities for supervision and ensuring a systemic approach is embedded within the team.
A large part of the role is participating in MDT responsibilities such as chairing CPAs and Ward Round, organising and leading formulation and providing supervision and training to the team underpinned by a systemic approach.
The Post holder will receive regular clinical and managerial supervision and will be supported by a large psychological therapy team.
