Job overview
The holder of this post will work as part of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team, supporting and developing Infection Control information and reporting requirements across healthcare associated infections (HCAI), antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) and surgical site infections (SSI).
The postholder will support the Senior Surveillance Analyst in delivering accurate and timely infection prevention and control data reporting and assurance, rather than holding full operational responsibility for the IPC data function.
Main duties of the job
- Mandatory surveillance reporting to UKHSA, including DCS submissions and ensuring data quality through validation and audit processes. • Assist in the effective running of key clinical information systems for the purposes of clinical audit, clinical effectiveness, clinical governance, performance management and patient discharge / reporting functions. • Assist in the effective actioning of key Trust requirements for data completion / submission relating to HCAI, AMS and SSI audit projects outlined as part of NHS Healthcare Standards are met. • Assist in developing and maintaining a framework for information audit within the Infection Prevention and Control directorate, enhancing the quality of patient care and facilitating improved outcomes and effectiveness across HCAI, SSI and AMS. • Assist in the management and administration of Infection Prevention and Control clinical databases and support audit projects on behalf of the Infection Prevention and Control team. • Demonstrate expertise in all aspects of clinical data handling, interpretation and presentation for the fields of Infection Control care and IT software manipulation, using a range of standard packages. • Participate in the planning and prioritisation of the work associated with the team.
