The North Midlands and Black Country Procurement Group (NMBC) is comprised of The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM), The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT), Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust (WHT), The Black Country Pathology Services (BCPS), North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust (NSCHT), Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust (BCHFT), Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) and Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (MLCSU).
The NMBC is responsible for all aspects of Procurement, Supply Chain and wider Commercial support covering a range of Acute, Mental Health, Community, Pathology Networks, GP Practices and Commissioning Support Units across the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, Black Country, Shropshire and South Cheshire Integrated Care System (ICS’s).
With almost 200 staff, 55,000 customers and managing a total non pay spend portfolio of over £1.2b per annum the NMBC is one of the largest and influential Group Procurement Organisations (GPO’s) in the NHS.
This post sits in the Capital Procurement team and is based at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust (Manor Hospital, Ida Road, Walsall WS2 9PS) reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager - Capital, within the NMBC.
We do operate under a flexible working policy and also offer partial working from home (typically 2-3 days per week) as part of the role.
The Trust offers 27 days annual leave on appointment, rising to 29 days after 5 years' of service and 33 days after 10 years' of service. In addition, there is also the potential to accrue hours towards flexi-leave in accordance with the flexible working policy.
The Support Buyer will lead on the Capital Procurement Contracts and ensure compliance for Capital spend for the NMBC covering all Walsall Healthcare Medical Division requirements,. This role is integral in supporting the Capital Procurement team in the delivery of the Trust's Procurement objectives, including savings targets.
Reporting in to the Senior Strategic Procurement Manager, as part of the Capital procurement team, the Support Buyer will manage all Capital work schemes and be a vital member of the Capital team, helping towards delivering the overall departments savings targets.
Supporting the Departments' national / regional obligations & the implementation of the local Procurement strategy to meet the needs of the host Trust's customer base requirements, and working collaboratively with other Group Trusts, maximizing value for money, minimising operational / commercial risk, ensuring compliance with EU Procurement Legislation, UK Law and the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions.
