Our 0–5 Service brings together health visitors and a skilled multidisciplinary team to deliver the Healthy Child Programme and improve public health outcomes.
We are pleased to offer sponsorship opportunities for highly motivated, qualified nurses wishing to undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health and Specialist Community Nursing (Health Visiting). Applicants must be registered with the NMC as a nurse or midwife in any field of practice.
If you are passionate about public health, early intervention, and providing timely, effective support to families, Homerton Healthcare offers an excellent training environment. The programme is full‑time, fully funded, and delivered in partnership with City, University of London. It includes a 50% academic component and a 50% practical placement within community settings across Hackney and the City of London.
Applicants should hold a minimum 2:2 honours degree in a relevant subject. Experienced clinicians without a degree may be considered if they can demonstrate recent Level 7 study completed within the past five years.
The post holder will undertake the required study with the affiliated university achieving outcomes in both practice and university-based learning. They will be required to work within the community setting, facilitated by the Practice assessor/supervisor.
The post holder is expected to work towards gaining the standards of proficiency for entry to the NMC register/recordable for Specialist Community Practitioner.
