An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our specialist Orthopaedics team at Broadgreen Hospital.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team, working across both Elective Orthopaedic Surgery and the highly specialised Limb Reconstruction Service (LRS).
This static post offers the opportunity to work with complex patient caseloads, contribute to service development, and be part of a supportive and forward-thinking MDT.
Main duties of the job
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to:
- Deliver expert physiotherapy for patients undergoing a wide range of routine elective orthopaedic surgeries, including sarcoma management
- Provide specialist rehabilitation for patients within the LRS, including those undergoing surgery for trauma, deformity correction, and limb salvage
- Support patients across the full pathway — from inpatient recovery through to outpatient rehabilitation
- Play a key role in developing day-case services and enhancing care pathways for elective procedures

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a physiotherapist who can demonstrate:
- Broad clinical experience in MSK outpatients and inpatient trauma & orthopaedics
- Specific experience or interest in deformity correction and external fixation
- A good understanding of orthopaedic and trauma surgical pathways
- Flexibility, resilience, and a genuine interest in working in complex rehabilitation settings

As a Band 6 Physiotherapist within our Orthopaedics and Limb Reconstruction Service, you will:
- Deliver high-quality physiotherapy care through comprehensive assessment, clinical diagnosis, and the development of individualised treatment plans for both routine and complex patients
- Continuously evaluate and adapt treatment plans to meet changing patient needs and maximise outcomes
- Plan and manage your own caseload autonomously, balancing service demands and patient priorities effectively
- Supervise and support the development of junior physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, and students, contributing to a positive learning environment
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, carers, and other health and social care professionals — including individuals with communication or cognitive challenges
- Represent the Physiotherapy team in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, ensuring a coordinated and collaborative approach to patient care
- Support the operational running of the team, including deputising for the Team Leader Physiotherapist when required, and contributing to service development and improvement initiatives
