Job overview

We are looking for registered nurses who are passionate, motivated and have a desire to to develop their knowledge and skills in gastroenterology.

Haygarth Ward is a 24 bed specialist gastroenterology ward caring for a variety of patients with many different conditions within the GI field such as: liver disease, pancreatitis and gastric ulcers and patients who are detoxing from alcohol. We work closely with the endoscopy unit which is located next to the ward and we will occasionally take direct admits from the unit to the ward.

You will be welcomed by a dynamic and hard-working team where development is a priority and are keen to help others succeed and enjoy their roles. We are lucky to have strong working relationships with the gastroenterology consultants who have lead training for nursing staff to develop their specialist knowledge and understanding of gastroenterology.

We are looking for equally enthusiastic and energetic individuals who are eager to learn, willing to work together as a team but are self-motivated and can work independently when needed.

This area is both rewarding and challenging whilst caring for some of the most complex patients in the trust.

If you want to work in a busy acute ward and you aspire to develop new skills and knowledge in gastroenterology, then we would love to hear from you. Applications from newly qualified staff are also welcome.
