An opportunity has arisen to join our team on a  minimum 6 month Fixed Term contract covering maternity leave

This is an exciting time to join our Orthopaedic team as we have relocated to the new purpose built elective Hub. This consists of 2 theatres  and a 28 bedded in patient ward.

The in- patient ward was developed by teams including clinicians and involved patients groups, staff members and infection and prevention control. National and international research and best practice were also considered in its design. This has led to the development of an innovative environment using technology, with increased privacy and dignity for our patients due to the high number of side rooms.

Within the elective Hub we will be caring for a variety of elective joint procedures, including total hip and knee replacements as well as orthopaedic day case procedures.

The elective orthopaedic department has a reputation as a high performing ward, having received “ good” ward accreditation, and a previous  Paget ward of the year, where patients are first and foremost at the centre of all our care delivery.

Successful applicants will ideally have previous orthopaedic experience and a knowledge of enhanced recovery programmes for elective joint surgery.

As the new Hub is purpose build for elective Orthopaedic procedures, your role will include the safe management of patient’s pre and post operatively. Working closely with members of the MDT in order to promote early mobilization, optimized analgesia and safe, early discharge home.
