As a key member of our Pre‑Assessment Unit, you will play an essential role in delivering safe, high‑quality and person‑centred care. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating holistic and individualised nursing care, ensuring that every patient is treated with dignity, compassion and respect.

Main duties of the job

Ensure surgical patients are prepared physically and psychologically for surgery and understand the purpose of their operation and are ready to proceed

Collaborate with members of the multi disciplinary team within and outside of the trust

Maintain skills in comprehensive individualised anaesthetic assessment, escalating concerns when necessary and continue to maintain a Progressive attitude towards the patient care

Ensure implementation of workplace policies and procedures

Be involved in research and audit relevant to the field of pre assessment

Provide clinical advise and support to staff and patients within own level of competence

Access, plan, implement and evaluate holistic high duality and individualised care which respects patients personal dignity and beliefs

Maintain a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff

Maintain and promote effective communication within the care team and with colleagues patients relatives and visitors

Maintain a professional profile and develop skills, knowledge and competencies adhering to the NMC code of professional conduct and trust policies and procedures.
