About the Role: As a Continence & Stoma Nurse, your primary responsibilities will include identifying, diagnosing, and treating patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction. When continence is unachievable, you will develop and implement appropriate management strategies to enhance patient care, uphold personal dignity, and improve quality of life.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert clinical advice to primary and secondary care professionals, social care agencies, voluntary organisations, and private sector partners within Bury
  • Supporting patients, their families, and carers with tailored management plans

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified nursing NMC registration with relevant experience in continence or stoma care
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Join us and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our community members.

Apply today and become part of a dedicated team committed to exceptional patient care.

Main duties of the job

We’re seeking a compassionate Continence Nurse to improve access to assessment, diagnosis, and management of urinary and bowel dysfunction. You will provide evidence-based advice and support to patients and carers, helping prevent unnecessary GP visits and hospital admissions through timely care.

You’ll conduct patient-centred assessments in homes, clinics, or private settings, ensuring dignity, privacy, and confidentiality. You’ll deliver a specialist nurse-led phone advisory service daily, collaborate with statutory and voluntary agencies to promote health and reduce inequalities, and support safeguarding vulnerable adults.

Additionally, you will oversee home delivery of continence products, incorporating user feedback, and contribute to community health initiatives. We value a respectful, patient-focused approach, with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Join us and make a meaningful difference in our community’s wellbeing. Apply today to be part of a dedicated, high-quality, and cost-effective continence service!

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
