We currently have vacancies in:- Acute Medical Unit and Acute Assessment Unit – Assessment Wards Peale Ward – Infection Control Mercer Ward – Care of the Elderly Hyper Acute Stroke Unit – Stroke services Ward 21 and John Day Ward – Respiratory Medicine Pye Oliver Ward – General Medicine Ward 12 - Gastroenterology

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our highly skilled multi-disciplinary team and make a difference in patient care. You need to have excellent communication skills, be able to demonstrate evidence based clinical practise and be open to further academic development. You must be flexible, approachable, compassionate, hardworking and be able to use your own initiative whilst also having the ability to work under pressure. This role will involve developing further skills and knowledge in relation to patient care and managerial/team leadership duties.

Main duties of the job

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans
  • Administering medications and treatments
  • Monitoring vital signs and responding to changes in patient condition
  • Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintaining accurate and complete patient records
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations

You will receive support in your new role and will be encouraged in further development. You will be fully supported by the ward, Practice Development Nurse and Clinical Skills Facilitators in achieving all the required competency.

The Medicine and Emergency Care division offers an educationally focused environment that allows nurses to professionally grow and develop a vast repertoire of clinical skills and theoretical knowledge. You will have opportunities to work alongside the Practice Development Nurse to further develop your key knowledge and skills in this exciting, fast paced environment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.

If applicable followed by one of the below

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics.  The programme is full-time (please email [email protected] if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.

Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)
