Job overview

Ward A1 is able to give you the opportunity to learn about nursing patients with a whole range of  respiratory conditions. You will be upskilled to cannulate, take earlobe blood gases, catheterize and deal with life-saving equipment such as non-invasive ventilation and high-flow oxygen.  Respiratory Medicine service treats patients with a full range of respiratory diseases including: COPD, Asthma, Lung Cancer, Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis, Sleep Apnoea and Infectious Lung disease. The service is staffed from across many professions and includes consultants and their teams, ward managers and their nursing teams, specialist nurses, physiotherapy, respiratory physiology and other allied health professionals. We are looking for an efficient, enthusiastic, highly motivated nurse with good interpersonal and communication skills to work in our respiratory unit. You will be joining our friendly and dynamic team with excellent standards and great work ethic. You will be supported to develop into the band 5 role through preceptorship, peer support and an exciting range of educational opportunities.
