We are keen to hear from you if you are a looking for a band 6 Speech & Language Therapy role.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to be part of a forward-thinking adult learning disability health service consisting of Speech & Language Therapists, Nurses, Clinical Health Assistants, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Arts Therapists, Dietitian and Podiatrist.

You will need:

  • Experience of and specialist skills working with learning disabilities Experience of supporting the evaluation of service delivery
  • Experience of providing supervision and an interest in developing leadership skills
  • Experience in developing and delivering training
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently
  • Enthusiasm, imagination and initiative
  • A full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.

Main duties of the job

  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the Speech and Language therapy needs of people with learning disabilities who use our services, taking the role of lead clinician for a person with learning disabilities as appropriate.
  • To mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students.
  • To participate in the recruitment, deployment and management of staff.
