We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, innovative and dynamic Speech and Language Therapist to join our Stroke Team at Bradford Royal Infirmary. The post-holder will work across the Stroke pathway including the acute and rehab wards and supporting the Clinical lead in service development.
The inpatient service covers all adult acute wards including Stroke, Neurology, Critical care, Respiratory, Surgical and medical admissions. The inpatient service now also includes the Macmillan Head and Neck cancer team. We benefit from positive working relationships with all members of the MDT including our joint-videofluoroscopy clinics as well as an established FEES service.
To deliver in this role you will have knowledge and experience of working with a range of communication and swallowing disorders. Completion of an accredited post-basic dysphagia course is desirable but training can be provided in this role. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and a keen interest in developing skills in the Stroke pathway
We are looking for a team member who is a team player with a ‘can do’ approach and dedicated to providing high quality care to patients as well as committed to their own development. We have a strong focus on service and clinical development and all our team members are supported to upskill in order to develop specialist roles.
This role would suit a newly qualified therapist however we would welcome applications from candidates who are due to qualify shortly.

As part of the service, you will benefit from peer support and clinical supervision within the wider inpatient team.
