Are you a newly qualified speech and language therapist looking for your first post? Or do you have some experience and are ready for a new challenge? The physical health adult speech and language therapy service are looking to recruit a Band 5 speech and language therapist to work with us.

This is an exciting and varied post working with adults who have acquired and progressive neurological conditions. You will be part of both the Doncaster Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team & the Neurological Rehabilitation Outreach Team and will provide specialist assessment and therapy for a range of speech and language disorders both in patients  homes and in the onsite outpatient clinic.

You will be supported by senior and specialist speech and language therapists and be welcomed into a friendly and innovative team.  Our priority is to ensure that we provide the best patient experience and clinical outcomes possible. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants have access to transport and the ability to travel within the required geographical area.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a speech and language therapy service to patients with communication difficulties, and to patients with dysphagia (if suitably competent).
  • This will involve independently assessing, developing and implementing specialist programmes of care and treatment for individual patients/service users with communication and/or swallowing disorders (if/when dysphagia competent).
