Are you looking to be part of a friendly, dynamic Speech and Language Therapy team for children and young people? Would you like to belong to a team committed to developing innovative ways of working and encouraging personal and professional development? If so, we have a post for you.

This post is a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist and is considered a new graduate career development pathway post. Upon completion of your NQP competencies within your first year and all NMAHP Level 5 competences by the end of 23 months, you would have an opportunity to apply for a Band 6 post as an internal candidate.

You will provide a comprehensive service as part of our clinical pathways across the region, working collaboratively with families and partner services and agencies to achieve the best outcomes for our CYPs. This post currently supports our AAC & Total Communication and School Age Pathways. Prevention and early intervention is a high priority with a focus on skill sharing and tailoring support according to the needs of individuals and their families. The service is fully aligned to Ready to Act (2016) with offers at universal, targeted and individualised care (specialist) with each pathway team in our service committed to delivering support at each level.

Ongoing support, preceptorship and training is available and you would have your individualised job plan. Operational, Professional and Clinical supervision are key aspects of the service and you would have an Annual Development Review and Preceptorship. This post is based in the Oak Tree Family Centre, Stranraer alongside AHP, Health Visiting, School Nursing and CAMHS colleagues. However, you will be asked to work in a variety of locations across the community and therefore must be able to drive.

Dumfries and Galloway is situated in the beautiful South West of Scotland with spectacular countryside, wide ranging leisure facilities, excellent schools and affordable housing. There are easy travel links to all the major cities in Scotland, North England and Northern Ireland.
