Job summary

Main duties of the job

The role of the Speech and Language Therapist is to work alongside Child Development Centre (CDC) team members providing speech and language therapy support for children referred to the CDC.

This may involve running communication workshops, offering 1:1 support or working alongside the Consultant Paediatricians to assess and support speech and language needs when families attend clinics at the CDC.

We are a multi-disciplinary team and you will work alongside other Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Educational Psychology, Nurse Practitioners, Nursery Nurses and Health Care Support workers.

We provide training to support the holistic assessment of the children referred to the CDC, so you will become proficient in offering support around sensory, behaviour, sleep and communication needs.

The CDC is currently involved in a backlog project and the team are working hard to reduce the long waits. We support partnership working and your views, ideas and care plan ideas will be welcome in our team meetings and away days.
