Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for managing a clinical caseload and delivering assessment and rehabilitation for patients with dysphagia and/or communication impairments across the clinical areas covered within the rotation.  There is a strong emphasis on collaborative multidisciplinary team (MDT) working, ensuring integrated and patient-centred care.  The role includes access to FEES (Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) and Video fluoroscopy, supporting dysphagia assessment and management.

You will have opportunities to contribute to service development and quality improvement projects. The SLT Team has recently undertaken training in Quality Improvement methodology and now actively applies this approach to enhance service delivery. Requirements: A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Requirement to contribute to the weekend rota, supporting patients on the acute stroke wards
