CESR pathway within Torbay Emergency Department:

We currently have 3 Doctors who are working towards CESR accreditation.  For these doctors we provide a CESR’d consultant as an educational and clinical supervisor who helps guide and supervise portfolio and evidence gathering.  We offer the opportunity to have a placement per year, with Acute Medicine, Intensive Care, Anaesthetics and Paediatrics, should you require this, which provides the chance to gain the relevant competencies for CESR completion.   We have very good links within these specialty teams and have a good working relationship as time in other specialties also helps build positive relationships within the trust. A CESR trainee is encouraged to join teaching opportunities and gain learning experiences alongside other trainees in the department.
