Job overview

An exciting opportunity to join the Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a Specialty Doctor/Post-CCT fellow with a special interest in Elective and Emergency Gynaecology. We are looking to recruit a post CCT fellow to complete our staff of 16 Consultants, 4 post CCT fellows,  14 Specialist Registrars/Trust Clinical Fellows and 16 SHO/FY2/ Junior clinical fellow doctors. We are looking for the postholder to start in April 2025.

Main duties of the job

This post will ideally suit a candidate who is either post-CCT or within 12 months of achieving entry onto the Specialist Register, and who has at least four years’ experience at registrar level within the NHS. Please refer to the person specification attached to the advert for essential and desirable criteria.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The 4 Specialty Doctors/ Post-CCT fellows work a 1 in 4 full shift rota to provide Senior Registrar cover at night, working alongside another registrar and 2 SHOs (the on-call consultant is non-resident after 2200 hrs). This is done by doing a fixed weekday night every week and a Friday-Sunday weekend set of nights every month.

The post is offered on a full-time basis on a 12 PA (Programmed Activity) Specialty Doctor/ SAS contract (2021). The contract will be reviewed after 12 months or sooner to ensure that the sessional commitments reflect the needs of the service.
